health.moves.minds

The health.moves.minds. Program has lessons that provide students to begin taking ownership of their own health and wellness. Teachings students these real life skills now will not only help them cope with the effects and potential trauma of this pandemic but also have a positive impact on their physical and mental health for years to come. Health.moves.minds. provides free “school-wide curricular strategies” for in-school, hybrid or distance learning environments addressing mental and emotional well-being and creating a trauma-sensitive learning environment.

In 2019, SHAPE America launched a new service-learning program designed to help teach all children how to cope with stress, bullying, and the societal pressures that can negatively affect their daily lives. In addition to education and service, this new program, called health. moves. minds., can also be used to raise funds for your school’s health and physical education program and initiatives.

OAHPERD is proud to continue our partnership with SHAPE America to be able to offer this opportunity to all Oklahoma schools in the 2021-22 school year. Email our state coordinators, Katie Barton or Carly King, with any questions or to learn more!
